Hey, I'm taking a hiking trip soon and with there being a restriction on fires the only source of fire that I will have is from my pocket stove. Is it possible to cook trout with one of these with a smaller pan? Any suggestions would be great!

Here's a thread I started last year, with some pretty informative replies: cooking fish

Ill stay tuned here also. I am taking my 4wt fly rod on a trip in a couple weeks. I am pretty sure there are no trout where we will be, though. I am going to bring a breading mix and pan fry any fish I may get.

From some of the articles I've found it's possible to cook them on a mini stove in a smaller pan. Also, lots suggested poaching the trout or cooking it in with a dried soup. Most people cooked them whole and de-boned them after the fish is done. Sounds pretty easy, I'm going to give it a shot.
