What kind of pack do you suggest for a guy with a big gut but no butt? You cinch the pack as tight as you can but it eventually just drops out from under you.
Thoughts?

Lighten the load and remove the waist belt entirely. After shouldering the load for a couple of hard seasons, maybe the gut will shrink.

I'd go with something that has a four way hip belt. Instead of having just two straps to tighten, it has four. Look at the hip belt view of this Elemental Horizons pack. Having the extra adjustment helps the belt stay over your hipbones, which are the only thing holding it up in your case.

I know there are other companies that make a pack with this type of belt. Six Moons Designs Fusion series have them... I am also assless and have a hard time keeping my pack up.

I, too, have no butt. No gut either, but I still have the same problem. I've not tried a four way hip belt so can't comment on whether it's better. But I have tried quite a few brands of packs and found that some hip belts work better for me than others. My GoLite packs are the best. (Note Golite is no longer in business.) My theory is that the minimal padding on the hip belt allows it to conform to my body better. But I still have to cinch it up real tight.
