I am lookng to put together a small group of people who wish to kayak in style. The trip I am interested in will launch from a Mothership each day. Sort of a B&B type thing where they provide all meals, a guide, and all gear. 6 nights, 7 days, will run about $3000 per person + air fare and any hotels and food we need prior and after the actual trip.
When I say they provide all gear, I mean all we provide is our clothing layers, rain gear, and a sleeping bag. They provide tandem kayaks, PFDs, skirts, paddles, pogies, and boots if you need. I used this outfit in 2015 and loved their care for everyone.
Skill levels are not mandatory, as they will adjust to the level of the group. I plan on my wife occupying the front of my tandem so she can ride along, paddling when she feels like it.
Here is the link to the company I am interested in using.

I think it could be done for about $4K-4500, unless the flights get much more expensive, or a person liked sleeping in 5 star hotels only.

Yeah zeke, I may have overestimated. Not sure what flights would run but AK is expensive.
edit: so you fly to Anchorage and then to Kenai?

johntpenca Fly to Anchorage, then train to Seward, or rental car. As always, a car allows a bit more flexibility. Train leaves Anchorage at 6 AM, and leaves Seward on the return trip at 6 PM. Too early on the return to catch the train on the same day the boat gets back to Seward. Right now, RT flights to ANC from Tampa run almost $800 per person.

Looks like a GREAT trip! I'd be very interested but I'm already committed to a GC rafting trip in the spring and promised to take my son to Japan in the summer. Not sure I can take time off in August. Would be sad to miss the opportunity though...

Sounds fun, but August is reserved for the solar eclipse

zeke, is this something you're still considering? Tossing around ideas for an August 2019 trip to Alaska and doing some kayaking. The same company you mentioned came up in my research and it looked familiar... and then I remembered this thread.

jazzmom I'm not available Aug '19, but I'd highly recommend this company. If you are solo, email them with the dates of your availability and let them add you to a group. Be sure to tell them your experience, and mileage you are OK paddling in a day. They do a wonderful job of matching up participants. They have trips that run from 4 -7 days, so let them know if you have a minimum or max. I'd say 5 days min, so you get to more glaciers.
