This has also been posted in the California forum:
First time at Yosemite with my daughter. She has backpacking experience, the most miles in a day has been five. Looking at three day trip. Any recommendations? Many years ago I backpacked Porcupine Creek to North Dome to Yosemite Falls to Valley and loved it (except for the hike down). So I am considering a varient: Yosemite Campground to Falls to North Dome to Porcupine. Park has trails miles for all but between Falls and North Dome. Anyone know the mileage?

I see that HSF gave you the mileage in the other forum. I'm not sure what permit availability will be--depends of course on when you are actually going to be doing this.
You might also consider something less popular (at least as a fall-back if you can't get permits for this one). Sometimes going just outside the Park can help.

Have you looked at Tuolumne? May Lakes? Lots of relatively flat hikes in Tuolumne.

As you may have found out already, it is possible that 10yo will leave you in her dust - especially if an active girl.
By 7-8 we had them carrying their own clothes in an appropriate pack and by 10-11 a sleeping bag too.

By 7-8 we had them carrying their own clothes in an appropriate pack and by 10-11 a sleeping bag too. That sounds pretty comparable to what we did. Somewhere I have the lists from each year. Our boys, especially Eldest Son, were (in his case, are) very small for their ages, so had them carrying less weight for lower mileages than many do at the same age. What kids can do and how fast they do it varies widely. I know Sarbar had her oldest carrying all his own gear at an age when my boys were only carrying their own clothes. OTOH: her son was about twice their size, so...
