Hello!
I'm trying to plan a trip to King's Canyon National Park but am running into one issue - I will not have a car. I will likely be coming from Fresno, and I know that I can take a shuttle from there to the park entrance. But I need to cover another 35 miles to get to the Copper Creek Trailhead. I haven't had much luck finding shuttle services online that will take me up there (and pick me back up).
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Get as close as possible using the shuttle system, then hitch. People with backpacks don't have a hard time getting rides usually. Have a big, readable, sign. People with the interest to head to Roads End are likely of the more sympathetic sort than straight line tourists zooming around to check park icons off a list. www.nps.gov/seki/planyourvisit/parktransit.htmPlan B? Don't get target locked and pick a trailhead and route you CAN access without a car. Lots to choose from. Plus if they're in the shuttle system you can do a one-way rather than out and back as you're thinking of doing. And Gack, that trail in the hot summer, twice? home.nps.gov/seki/planyourvisit/traildesc.htmPlenty of nice routes: how many days were you interested in?

Hitchhiking or Uber, or Craigslist. Or posting on backpacking forums looking for other backpackers heading there on the same day.
Or, just use a different trailhead. Many awesome things available from Lodgepole and Wolverton.

Similar question! My co-traveller has just bailed on me and our two car system is now dead. I'm looking to do a short section hike from Kennedy Meadows to Cottonwood pass but don't have a second car to leave at the end trailhead. Anyone have any advice to get back to Kennedy? Am I hitching it?
