Hi all, I will be in Aspen from August 23-29 and am looking at doing the Four Pass loop. If anyone is interested or has any good ideas/tips about this hike it would be greatly appreciated. I am a New Zealander who is living in New York, am reasonably experienced and am fit.
Thanks

I'd switch from Aspen to Marble as your base. Do a flip loop starting from Lead King Basin to Geneva Lake over Electric Pass, Snowmass Lake, Buckskin Pass, etc. I'd spend a night before and a night after at the Redstone Inn and make arrangements for transportation with Crystal River Jeep Tours for a drop-off and pick-up in Lead King Basin. You may even meet the Mayor of Lead King Basin! The backside has much more aesthetic appeal than the "been there, done that" tourist checkmark on the Maroon Bells side.

Counter-Clockwise is better than clockwise.
