My first attempt to dehydrate spaghetti went well until I put it in the freezer bag and the hard spaghetti immediately punctured the bag. Not sure what to do about this besides bringing extra freezer bags on the trail to put the spaghetti into them before rehydrating. Seems like a pain and additional trash.
Anyone have any experience with this?

1) Before you boil it at home break it up in to small pieces, or...
2) Try a different style/shape pasta that doesn't have pointy ends, it will taste pretty much the same.

Two tips:
Spaghetti is pretty hard on bags.
Line your bags with a sheet of new paper towel, then add food. Remove before prepping food in camp...and bonus you have a paper towel.....also works well for sealing food vac bags with stuff like rice.

Yeah, I pretty much stick with smaller pasta. Actually, I've gotten lazy, and mostly use ramen or pancetta (which as far as I can tell is just Filipino ramen, though slightly larger noodles--more like spaghetti).

I break up the spaghetti after drying, but it still sometimes punctures bags. I generally allocate one bag for pasta storage and don't use that one for cooking. After the pasta is gone, it becomes a trash bag.

Thanks to everyone for the tips. I think I will bring extra bags for cooking, and then next time use a different pasta to avoid the problem. It is too late to line the bags with paper towels; the damage is already done.
The dried spaghetti chunks were ok out of the dehydrator, but when I broke them into smaller pieces to fit in the freezer bags, it turned into lethal points.
