Da Bra

My wife, this AM, after reading the lastest issue of Backpacker, blurted out 'who cares if I have a uni-boob. If I run into a man out backpacking all he cares about is BOOBS, and all I care about is does it dry fast. There is nothing worse at the start of the day then to put on a wet cold bra.'
So far the quickest drying bras my wife has found, for backpacking, are the ones female triathlon runners wear. We have a collection of tried and failed bras. She is interested in getting some new bras, any suggestions for quick drying backpacking bras?

I basically never use "sports" bras for hiking. I don't care what the ads claim, in my experience, bras designed to provide a lot of "support" for running (i.e. minimize bounce) always involves thick strong fabric, and lots of it. (Do men wear jockstraps/cups/etc. while hiking?) So, I wear whatever I find the most comfortable that I would wear around the house. Patagonia's "Barely Bra" is one of my favorites (although the most recent model seems to have a lot more fabric than my older ones.) Jockey has a bunch of them too; look for "micro crop bra". Comfortable enough that I can sleep in them. For short 2-3 day hikes, I often never take it off, especially if I'm hiking with guys.

I'll be interested to see what other women say, because, if I can find any bra that's breathable, supportive, and comfortable, I'm in!

I abandon the hope of drying quick. I get something without under wires. Glamorize brand sport bras are comfortable and affordable, no wires, I can sleep in them and as sexy as grandma's muumuu but they do the job.
There are wool bras, but even good merino can make me itch when worn for a few days so I stick with synthetic.

My wife wants to know if tassels are quick drying. I have no idea but...Seriously, if there is a chance you get to see your wife hike in tassels, just tell her YES!

This thread has bugged me all day. Heading out on my first overnight tomorrow and "fast-drying" never crossed my mind. Ugh.
