I recently visited Trough Creek State Park and Hawn's Overlook at Raystown Lake. Two beautiful places that must be seen. Trough Creek is a unique state park with a gorge, waterfalls, cliffs and overhangs, vistas, old stone furnaces, and Balanced Rock, a massive erosional remnant perched on the edge of a cliff. The rain and cloudy skies brought out an incredible array of green in the forest. Rainbow Falls at Trough Creek was flowing very high. Next we visited the vast and beautiful Raystown Lake. I had not been to Hawn's Overlook before, and it was an impressive view- unlike any other in the state.
