Anyone experienced in using these? If so, do they work or just a waste to weight to pack and money to spend?

I was on a trail crew that used one in the Smokies 20 years ago. Bears did not get in, but mice did.

Are you talking about something like this? www.udap.com/mm5/category/bear-electric-fencesI didn't even know they existed. It weights 3.5 lbs and costs $270. If you properly hang your food I don't think it's really necessary. I've gotten along without it so far. |
