I can't say enough about Ultralight Adventures. Recently bought a new ULA Catalyst from someone who didn't want it after they bought it. After a few adventures, the stitching for the waist tensioner came out and the waist belt was no longer usable. Contacted Chris at ULA and received an e-mail back right away. He asked for my address and said he'd send me a new waistbelt. A few days later, a new belt arrived. Honestly, I rarely get that kind of service anywhere anymore. I've been out on three trips since and the new belt works great.
ULA stands behind their products, have excellent customer service and are a good example of the service level that cottage industry/ small business's should strive for.

A friend who hiked the PCT in 2014 said there were more ULA Catalyst packs on the trail than all others put together.

Yeah, I saw a few on the John Muir Trail last year. The feedback was one of the main reasons I went for one.

Glad you got some service. I live in Utah where ULA is located. Sought a personal visit to their facility or at least coordinate a hands-on viewing of a "live" ULA product sample. Our schedules did not match and I got the feeling they don't want you to visit unless the owner is present. In the end, we purchased (2) HMG 3400 Southwest Packs for our thru-hike of the CT which we just completed July 30th.
Although the ULA has a couple of superior accessory pockets/holder and less expensive, the HMG 3400 Southwest weighs less and does not need a pack cover for wet weather.
We did see a few ULA Circuits, Gossamer Mariposa and an HMG. Majority using more commercially available packs.
