Hi everyone! It's my first time on the forum and I just wanted to share a recent hike that I did with a friend in Bukhansan National Park in Seoul, South Korea. We climbed Baegundae Peak (836.5m) the highest point one can reach through conventional hiking in the national park. We took the Bukhansanseong course, the most popular route to the peak in which we were blessed by beautiful, sunny weather with cool breezes. It's no easy climb, but the view is spectacular at the top, truly unforgettable and well worth it! Once you reach the top, you can see miles and miles away in all directions and the whole city of Seoul. And of course, along the way you will be able to see parts of the Bukhansanseong Fortress that spans throughout the national park. There are also streams and waterfalls of crystal clear ice-cold water along the hiking trail. I highly recommend climbing this peak if you are ever visiting South Korea. After this climb, I would recommend taking a hiking challenge to Mount Hallasan in Jeju Island in South Korea, a beautiful shield volcano visited by thousands of hikers each year. It is around 2000 meters to the top! I took a GoPro Hero4 Black camera with me and was able to create a video of the hiking trip to share! Feel free to watch the video in 4K UltraHD Resolution! www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3aEYHhxU8oIf anyone is every interested in visiting South Korea, please feel free to ask me any questions!

Thanks for posting. The Far East intrigues me as a place to explore.I have read accounts of backpacking in the Far East of Russia and exploration of the remote Japanese islands. And,was fascinated by a bike tour account detailing the incredible mountainous scenery of Taiwain, a country one thinks of as heavily industrialized, once you leave the industrial belt behind. It appears South Korea is the same way. Please post more of your adventures if you get the chance.

Whoah, that was fun to watch! Reminded me of Yosemite's Half Dome. Very cool.
