He is an outstanding wordsmith. It's worthwhile (and a joy) to go back and read columns from the earliest issues of 'Backpacker'.

I had a few issues from the early 90's, but pitched them. But it appears that they have several issues scanned in Google Books: Backpacker - 1973-2009
I like the simple, uncluttered look of the covers in the early 70's. |
