Hi all! We just visited the Brecon Beacons national park in Wales, UK. The region surprised us by exceeding our every expectation. It is still rather untouched by international tourism and offer plenty of possibilities for hikers. Routes from day hikes to multiple day loops. You have mountains and the magnificent coast right next to each other and the nature is nicely rugged. This was one of the better trips we have done with my hubby. More details, pictures and the story here: Wales - Part oneWales - Part two
Hope you enjoy!

Very nice!
We lived in England for 2yrs, but unfortunately never went to Wales (only managed a single trip to Scotland).

Wales really seems to be forgotten by many, since Scotland is so hyped. But I did like Wales nearly as much as Scotland, plus the weather is better there!

Did a November hike of Snowden in '93. Would love to go back! Appreciate your time and effort prepping and sharing your report. Thank you!

Invest in a Couple of TheseOffa's Dyke has always appealed to me, perhaps a few scrambles in Snowdonia or a portion of the Wales Coast Path would be my picks. Browse there the link, lots of choices. I only had a long weekend holiday there as an extension of a business trip to Bristol. Drove through Brecon Beacons, had a night in Cardigan and spent a day seeking ancestral headstones. Best wishes!

Great! I used to visit Wales occasionally for work and I enjoyed a few weeks of vacation there one summer. I hope to get back again someday.
