1. zeke wondered if I could add a place to let people indicate their general location. I thought the signature area was good for that, but in the garden forum, people have adopted the "Current Status" space in the Profile>Personal, scroll down to see Current Status and use that spot (look under my avatar.) So instead of some breathless announcement of your social relationship, you can just let us know what part of the world you inhabit. 2. Got a minute? Use Google to search "hiking forum". Pretend you didn't know this forum existed. See what you find. If it works for you like it did for me, I think You will laugh. Don't just note the position on the list, DO read the description. ...drunk with power! Bwahahahaaa

I googled it, and the top result was this place. Bwahahahahaha!!!!! But I have no interest in brussels sprouts.
Drunk with power on tequila! To the Backpacker Bar!

I failed to see the single malt question, or any mention of tequila
Good solution to what I was looking for. People can choose to list their home area, or maybe an area they prefer to hike.

If I ask for "backpacking forum," we are #2. "Hiking forum" puts us #1. "Backpacking information" didn't seem to put us on the list, but maybe that makes sense.

I did it. All by myself. Amazing! That's almost too good for the OOC thread.

A search on my phone shows an AD first for Trail Groove I think. Have not checked it out yet.

an AD first for Trail Groove... JR, that is just a first listing on the Google hit list! The info you want to see is that we are listed in the first few sites (like No. 2?) and it's the forum description that might make you smile. Maybe try again.

"Backpacking information" didn't seem to put us on the list I modified the text. It now reads: "Backpacking and Hiking Forum - Backpacker Magazinebpbasecamp.freeforums.net/ Information about Gear, Food Prep, Regional Trips, and Critters. Be prepared to be asked about kilts, Brussels Sprouts, bacon, and many other campfire topics!" I chose not mention scotch, beets, orange shoes, etc. It's supposed to sound inviting, not crazy!
