Can anyone suggest where my girlfriend can find womens hiking pants for a decent price. She has a 34 inch inseam and wears a size 10. Finding pants for her is rather taxing.

Frankly, I don't think there's a pair of hiking pants out there that fits anyone. At least, I've yet to meet any women who can find pants that fit. I honestly don't know what to tell her for a 34" inseam, except to suggest gaiters

Yeah it is starting to look like she is gonna have to wear some tall mens pants or yoga pants.

The womens pants never fit right. I wear Columbia Silver Ridge men's convertible pants, zipped off the fall just above the knee. They come in different inseam lengths, I've seen 34. They have them at Dicks Sporting Goods.

My wife had a 34 inseam, and she just wore men's. Side benefit was they were cheaper than women's.

I've pretty much figured out I need men's pants, too. The women's pants are all too tight in the waist and mostly just cut wrong. Men's aren't flattering, but I'm more interested in comfort than looks when I'm hiking.

This might be a strange suggestion, but have her check into the local Boy Scout shop. They have great outdoor pants for hiking and such, in a variety of sizes for all shapes. They also have a huge selection of men's (duh) and when they didn't have my size back in the day (I was a Venture leader), I bought a men's pair. It was still a bit big in the waist, but I had to wear a belt with my uniform anyway.

Shes an avid weighlifter with very musclular legs so the extra leg room is likely needed.
I dont know if there are any boy scout shops around but I can check, thanks.

If you have Boy Scouts in your area, you have a shop. Mostly likely it will be in the head offices. Do a Google search for the headquarters for the BSA in your area. Good luck!

And as a woman, I can't stand the Boy Scout pants, but the nice thing about them is that they have the free length, and you can hem as needed. My legs aren't quite as long, but some of the styles have lots of extra length for hemming. I haven't bought a pair in awhile, so there might be a possibility that they've changed to a set length like the Venturing pants, which I actually like better than the Boy Scout ones. Men's pants aren't an option for me. I'm a little too hippy. The waist would fit horribly, but the may work for your girlfriend.

This made me laugh. Sorry. When I referred to my wife above, I should've included a picture. She was quite hippy, no junk in the trunk. It was all in the sides of her hips. She wore a 16 women's on good days. Yes, the waist fit poorly, but sometimes Men's were still the best fit she could find. I do miss that woman. 2007 was not a good year for me.

Zeke, I think you just underscored my point about there not being any pants out there to fit real women. We're all making compromises. The sad this is that for me, all I need for a decent fit is a pair with a fully-elastic waist like the pants I buy for my boys (which don't come in quite a large enough size. I know. I've tried). For some reason, we adults aren't supposed to want the freedom of movement that elastic gives??

foxalo, they have new pants now. They are backpacking pants with the zip off legs and come in the easy dry fabrics. Those are hemmed. I have a pair.

I have those and love them! It's the Boy Scout pants I hate, but if you tell me they have the same style in Boy Scout green, I may have to go and get some.
