Just fyi saw a picture of the highline trail from ranger jake on facebook. Where he took the picutre the trail was clear of snow, however, the snowline can change drastically. You might get lucky, just play it by ear. EVen if u get lucky and most of the trail is clear, Im sure that areas by highline trail, will still be snowy and thus u will defintly want hiking poles and maybe some ice cleats for for the first part of the trail. call and Talk to a ranger the week u go up or check on line for trail conditions.

We have trekking poles but no ice cleats. We are traveling by motorcycle so space is severely limited for us. Hey, it'll be an adventure to say the least!!! Thank you immensely for all of your help!!

Hey hey hey FYI if you are traveling the JDR Parkway betwen grand tetons and yellowstone then make sure to go to Huckleberry Hotsprings and soak in the springs for a bit if you have time. You can park in the one hotels parking lot. Its well worth it, and only a short hike from the main road, prolly like 30 minuts if i remember correctly. Also the beartooth highway that exits yellowstone is a pretty cool road, not near as good as going to the sun in Glacier, but still a very nice drive.

Make sure not to drink the water in the hotsprings however, apparently there is amobeas in it that can be deadly if ingested. There is a warning sign.

Don't forget the shallow river crossing to get there, aabigrick. Over the past couple of years I have done trips in the northern part of the Tetons starting on Grassy Lake road and there has been a sign posted indicating the area is closed. Not sure if that's the case or not. Do you have any insight on that, John?

Litter mostly I imagine. It's not enough to just not drink hotspring water you do not know is risk free, don't have open wounds, be menstruating, or put your head under water or get get water in mouth, ears.

Gotcha, stupid litter bugs. I had a fairly fresh open puncture wound when I went in. I guess I got rather lucky.
