many others have already crossed the finish line years ago. True! You have to do a lot of backpacking to find out what's useful and what's only useful for sellers riding the fashion waves... Or a lot of camping, car camping or what ever. Only like this you will find a niche.

Doubt that these will ever come to fruition, but... (BTW, impressed that Malloony responded back - kudos there!) I fish, high and deep Sierra, often spending weeks in the "No Fires allowed" zone. Cooking fish then is a bit of an art - requires a hot, wide flame stove (remote canister or white gas), a fry pan, tin foil to wrap/cook the fish in, a little olive oil, and a rock press...cooked hundreds of fish this way. Right now, I carry a 10" solid Ti frypan (no coating) - round, with a handle. (FYI, bought in Japan ~ 15 years ago... 5 oz....$$$.) see pic. 1) Could use a similar solid Ti frypan but a little longer, shaped oval, smaller/lower sides too - still saute but longer fish. 2) Could use some sort of a sensor tape - sticks on canisters/removable - somehow? - something to make it easy to see exactly how full the canister is? 3) I would like some 100% safe way to refill isobutane canisters, or... 4) A small "church-key" - small and light - something to pierce spent canisters before field crushing.

Optimus Crux, S2S Spork, GSI 1L Pot. I doubt you'll find much to replace in my backcountry kitchen. Optimus Crux, REI(?) long handle plastic spoon, Evernew .5L(?) pot.

Kind of funny speaking in ounces while sitting next to a 3# (empty) bear canister.... Actually, my Bearikade Weekender cannot be seen in pic - hidden just behind me, but good eyes, and yes, all the more reason to look at saving pack-weight on other items. Here Sierra, many places, these damn things are mandatory...the price we all pay...

JK. I have one too but only use it if I go somewhere required. Otherwise just the food bag and a rope.
