The wild area is known for its views, gorges, waterfalls, big rocks, ponds, and historical features. A town once existed there, but it is gone, except for the fascinating cemetery. I explored the southern cliff rim with great views into Rock Run Gorge and the Lycoming Creek Valley above Ralston. The cliff rim was very scenic with pine trees, laurel jungles, and rock outcrops. I also explored two ponds and a deep, verdant pine and hemlock forest. I also got a nice cut on my leg from the mountain laurel, but I didn't realize it until I got home and my niece pointed it out to me. The price of bushwhacking.
