Welcome from the Land of Pleasant Living, on the opposite coast. Hope your life gets a little better. Regular camping, hiking, and generally being outdoors can help bring one a bit of grace, whether it's hours, days, or weeks.

Hello, hello, from North of you I'm sure, but still in CA (only 11 miles south of the border and on the coast)
I'm another car camper, but love the little, rarely visited, unimproved campgrounds with no amenities other than beauty.
There are great people here, as you are finding out.

That's what brought me to this wonderful place... Hey Grace, another NorCal welcome to you. I'd be interested in how you did find this place? Was it a Google search? If so, what search terms? Maybe you found the BP magazine site and then the link to this forum? (That would be amazing!) You don't know the history here, but I have an interest in how new members find the forum in the first place! — Steve

But how can one "eat well" if it doesn't include bacon??? Poor Grace. We're all picking on her about that bacon thing. Really, you are free to Hike Your Own Hike, and eat your own bacon. In fact, better be your own, because if you grab mine--!

As long as you're in NoCal.... Welcome. But how can one "eat well" if it doesn't include bacon??? It's pronounced NorCal, or better, The Bay Area (Please, never Frisco....) I make a pretty mean tempeh bacon and eggplant bacon jerky. In a fix, Bacos are the bomb....

Travis, it's great to see you limiting yourself to a mere two sentences. Sure, there's some bold, an arrow, and an altered background color, but I think you're making progress.

Looks like I found the mother ship. On occasion it's been more like the Death Star, but these days it's pretty cool, with a variety of smart, experienced, twisted, bacon-loving, kilt-loving, helpful people.

Newbie here as well.
Grace, are you a ballet dancer? When I saw your avatar I was certain you either are a dancer or love ballet. Am I correct?

The Armstrong Preserve is awesome! Might be some interesting spots up Mc Cray Ridge Rd as well, but I haven't had the chance to look into that yet.
Your love of beer somewhat makes up for your abstinence from bacon.
