Hello all I am going to Glacier National Park in Montana again in the beginning of August. This is my third time there so I have a grasp on things there. However me and my lady will be going into Waterton Canada for 3-4 days also, which i have never been there. I already have a hotel there. Can I get some suggestions on things to do in Waterton and that surronding area. I mainly will have time there for one full day hike and and one or two other half day hikes while there. Are their any activities we should look into while there, any good restaurants or pubs? Good spots to relax for the day.
As far as hiking goes we are both avid day hikers in very good shape, trail condition isnot a huge concern but nothing that needs mountaineering equipment.
Thanks guys.

I've never hiked much in Waterton, but if you can afford it, don't miss "high tea" at the Price of Wales hotel. It's just like backpacking. : :(

Lol, well unfortunatley this trip Im not backpacking and am staying at hotels. Hikerjer if I give u a list of hikes ive done in Glacier maybe u can suggest a trail that Im not thinking of.
So far Ive done, Iceberg, Bullhead, Highline, Grinnel Lake, Avalanche Lake, St. Marys falls area, Apikunia Falls, Around Lake Mcdonald some. Ive been to bowman and kinta though I wasnot able to see anything due to fog on both trips. Ive been to two medicine area but no trails there.
Also Have hiked from logan pass down to Hidden lake and to the steep divide that drops down to Avalanche Lake. FYI if you havenot done that its phenomenal looking at Hidden Lake from the opposite side and then down into the Avalanche Basin from the ridge.

Hi! I would suggest taking the boat across Waterton Lake to Goat Haunt trailhead. There are many lakes in Galcier National Park from that trailhead you can hike to and you can go as far as you want. I can't remember the name of the boat company that takes people across the lake but if you google Waterton Lake shuttle boat you should find it very quickly, I believe it costs about $30/pp but is a fun trip across the lake and takes about an hour.
