The efficient solar oven

This might be interesting to anyone who wants to bake and cook outside in the hotter months so the house stays cooler, anyone likes to save energy and utility money and likes to utilize solar. It actually paid for itself in two years or so though it was much less expensive back then. It works any time of year as long as it has a direct sight line to the sun. The box is insulated so you can even use it on snow.
The All American Sun Oven is a product of a Minnesota cottage industry and we have been using one for more than three years. I noticed they are sold out so demand must have outpaced supply. It achieves temperatures of 35O° degrees n around half hour to 45 minutes and has gotten as hot as 400° for us on a clear day one April. It will still cook with a light overcast as long as you can see shadows. It is approximately 22”x19”x14” and weighs 20 lbs. it is easy to deploy, just lift up the folded reflectors and aim the oven at the sun with the sights that put a bright circle in the middle of the sights. Adjust by rotating laterally and by raising and lowering the angle with the spring loaded button. The wire rack automatically levels. The glass door seals against a rubber seal and keeps all the heat in. The overall performance is pleasing but there is room for improvement. After researching the market three years ago this oven stood out for performance and practicality. It is used up to five times a week.
So it makes crispy, perfectly cooked bacon in 30 minutes with zero chance of burning.
Tandoori chicken cooks perfectly in an hour and a half.
We generally roast a leg of lamb for five or six hours for the most tender lamb and found that titanium pots work better than any others, heating up super fast. So if my math is correct it took 108 billion tons of energy to roast the leg of lamb but not energy of this planet. lol

We’ve baked cakes, cookies, pizza and biscuits. Roasted vegetables with balsamic vinegar, olive oil and a tablespoon of ground pork rinds are bursting with flavor. I’m interested in the future of these solar ovens after experiencing this oven. Any thoughts or experiences with solar ovens?
