Minnesota is trying to break into the top ten states for outdoor recreation. Like a lot of states, Minnesota just added a state outdoor recreation office. Plenty of good canoeing in Minnesota. Plenty of bike trails and water trails. Their North Shore along Lake Superior is really nice. Boundary Waters is a mecca for paddlers. Minnesota has had some influential leaders in conservation, outdoor recreation and the back-to-land movement of the ‘60s & ‘70s (Sig Olson, Calvin Rustrum) as well as some noted outdoor writers. But no matter what, I’m not going back there in January… gearjunkie.com/outdoor/minnesota-outdoor-recreation-officeHappy Trails, DR

When it comes to ice fishing, have at it. I mean they elect mayors of ice shanty fishing towns. Personally, walleye doesn't taste like chicken......and the waterfalls are....small. However; if it keeps mining away from the Boundary Waters, I hope they break the top 5.

Obviously that PR company didn't have time to feel the bumps on my head to determine how well I like nature.
