Laura Waterman is a hiker, climber, writer, author and former editor at Backpacker magazine. She co-wrote several books with her late husband on wilderness ethics. She lived off-the-grid for many years homesteading in Vermont. Since her husband’s death, she’s authored two memoirs. Her earlier books were favorites with the back-to-the-Earth movement of the ‘70s.
