The general area had many consumers when COVID forced work from home. Peleton (the connected indoor bike company) had massive growth only to see its sales slump. Also many elderly who could took early retirement and even young adults took to the hills .. though the later trend has been reversed.
These outdoor companies are in the same boat, but I feel the clothiers could have made a better effort to make their wares street-wearable (love my UL windshirt, but light handwarmer pockets that also function as forward zip pits aren’t going to add that much weight. Best shell jacket designs were the US Army protective shells arising from Afghanistan use.
These retailers need to think outside of the bun to borrow from a fast food purveyor.

Perhaps companies should consider selling things for more reasonable prices to drive greater sales.
