March comes in like a lamb and goes out like a salt-marsh harvest mouse...

70 degrees and sunny here in the northern Rockies. Pretty lambish, I'd say. This is not good.

Baaah, here. Not much snow on the continental divide this year. I fear for June & July. We'll see. In other news, Feb/March was warm enough in Alaska that they had to truck in snow for the Iditarod. Couldn't finish the race without it. But back to the point, great pictures hikerchick! - Mike

Wow, I was impressed when I saw my first mountain lion recently. Talk about one-upmanship. Good for you.

Definitely a very small scale Lamb/Lion thing going on, as shown on the departure from norm model from NOAA. The more red, the less normal snow pack to the tune of nearly 4-5 feet of snow. Blue is the converse. It looks like the Beartooth's are getting pounded, along with the Wasatch Front, much of SW Colorado as well as the Zirkel's near Steamboat, and much of Idaho.

Definitely a lion in Alabama! Tornadoes on Tuesday, heavy rain, hail, sleet, and snow(in some parts) on Thursday. This weekend looks to be nice though.

It looks like the Beartooth's are getting pounded, I just don't trust these maps. We're having one of the lowest snow years in the Beartooths in memory. At least along the eastern front. It's miserable. 19 inches at the summit of the ski hill at Red Lodge. The Cooke City area may be better buy not by a lot.

The lamb got very very wet today on I80. I don't think I've ever driven in quite such a heavy rain. People actually slowed down! To 30!

What!!! People slowed down? That was how I knew it was bad. Based on my experience, they slowed down because they quite literally couldn't see anything.

Came in like a lamb in Colorado Springs. We had a big snow Feb. 1-2, but since then it's been mild with daytime temps in the 50s and 60s. It is extremely dry here. Fire danger is high. And yet people still throw their burning cigarette butts out of their car windows.

Great photos. I am humbled. Just seeing one two weeks ago was fantastic but to get photos like that - Wow.

75 degrees today here in western CT. Temps are expected to remain above freezing for the next 10 days, or longer. Definitely the warmest winter I can remember.
