This last month, our school system from which I retired, lost 3 young ex-students in accidents. Two men in their 30's died in traffic accidents. Both of them in construction, the 1st was a passenger in a pickup where a car pulled out in front of his wife. He died instantly, she was injured badly enough to spend weeks in the hospital. The 2nd probably fell asleep at the wheel as he went off the road and hit a tree. A young woman died from a severe head injury when she was thrown from her horse. She was a deputy sheriff in our neighboring county working with truancy. She was 26.
I've had students and ex-students die before, most from accidents, a couple from disease, but never in this short period of time.
