How many women and children would you catapult to get that last bottle on the shelf? Me, a whole village.

Me? Not so much. Of all the things in the world to worry about, this one is pretty far down on the list.

Spicy food is performative. I am totally stealing that line next time I catch grief for being a spice wimp.

It's because of Huy Fong Foods business practices. They'd been relying on a single grower for all of their peppers, asked him for more peppers, which the grower agreed to, but said the price would have to increase slightly, made Huy Fong Foods sign the contract for the increased volume and price and when it came time to deliver, Huy Fong Foods reneged on the deal, so they buyer would not sell and they lost their supply chain. I just watched a good documentary on the whole thing a couple of months ago. youtu.be/EYdU1X2p2ro?si=v2JPSGplzTORq5QT

Now this is a hot sauce. Made with Pepper X. Just claimed the hottest pepper in the world title.

Actually hotter. You hallucinate for a bit at one point after eating some. If a plant doesn't want to be eaten so badly it evolves biochemical weapons...dontcha think it's wise to respect that? The next step of evolution, presumably, is nuclear weapons. You don't want peppers to start building nukes, do you?

I just checked and that sauce is as hot as bear spray not hotter.
As an aside birds aren't sensitive to capsicum so peppers aren't hot to them.
So the Pepper X was bred not evolved to be that hot. I grew these Chocolate Brutla's a few years ago. A lot of varieties don't bother to get certified as the hottest pepper but these Brutla's were insanely hot, possibly hotter than Reapers. So hot that I wasn't sure they were food.
I have 11 year twins so I do treat the peppers like they are radioactive. If they accidentally ate some or touched the pepper oil then their eyes it would be bad.

I just checked and that sauce is as hot as bear spray not hotter. So you see a substance that makes a 600-pound apex predator run away & cry like a little girl, and you think " hey, I should put some of that in my mouth"? What other non-lethal weaponry do you munch on? As an aside birds aren't sensitive to capsicum so peppers aren't hot to them. Huh...so are birds the only animals with this ability? Could you sprinkle hot sauce on your bird feed & keep squirrels away?
