All eclipses are NASA deep fakes. It's their excuse for when the mother ship passes in front of the sun.

Dang, I hope you get clear weather after all. There have to be SOME compensations. Thank you! I will reserve further comment in the interest of keeping an eclipse thread out of TPA. I had to delete half my comment for the same reason 😁

All eclipses are NASA deep fakes. Prepare sheeple!!! The grid will go down since all the solar panels will stop working simultaneously!

Of course, clouds are moving in an hour before the eclipse. Sometimes I really, really hate living in Syracuse.
PS - There wasn't a cloud in the sky yesterday.

We got 10 minutes of the sun coming out, about 30 minutes into it. Only 20% here, but excellent viewing at the beach down the road. Counts as Science today....

A little hazy but can be seen clearly with eclipse glasses. We are at peak here north of NYC right now. The temp has dropped by about 5F since before the start.

Maximum coverage was 87%. I wore shorts. I got a little chilly, and I think I got a sunburn on my pasty white Scots legs.

Soooo cool!!!After about 15% coverage we got thick clouds, and were afraid we'd miss everything. At what I'm assuming 75% coverage, light was a weird wavelength. Then from about 90%-totality we could see it through the clouds (with the naked eye, not enough light to see through glasses*). Clouds got thinner right at 99%. Temperature abruptly dropped. Birds acting weird. Our dog was afraid. Mosquitoes started biting. Then we could see the shadow projected on the clouds coming right at us! Caught the moment of totality, then dark, dark for 1:30 (our solar lights came on, etc.). We were right near the edge so we could see the hills to our south still lit up. Then orange clouds and a gradual increase in light. I could imagine primitive cultures being TERRIFIED by the event. *Don't worry... they were the kind of clouds you can glimpse a full-strength sun through. And we only glimpsed. Weird SunraysEnd of Totality

At my location the eclipse will be partial at 58% with an expected overcast sky, so I'll notice how much dimmer the light will be and that's about all. That's how it went for me, as expected.

Google Maps showing bumper-to-bumper traffic from the Canadian border to 20 miles south of Syracuse, and from Montreal to Albany.

We had a family reunion in TX for the eclipse. Although there was heavy overcast, we got occasional views through small breaks in the clouds, including four seconds during the four minutes of totality.

So overcast in Seattle I couldn’t even tell the light was dimmer, though I was watching for it. None of the sunbreak that Sarbar got only a dozen miles away.

We stayed in Austin TX last night, but were up at 4:30 am to chase the best weather window according to weather forecasts (discerning from cloud cover %, cloud ceiling, and UV index ratings) ... and ended up in Meridian TX as our best bet. We parked the vehicle at 8 am at the city park there, and watched the skies develop from hazy/cloudy overcast to perfect skies during the whole run up to totality. Complete success! Totality is an incredible experience (waaaaay more so than partial IMO). The exact moment the sun is blocked, and you take off your eclipse glasses is, well ... totally breathtaking! Bring on 2044 and 2045.

The winds were why I got sun, at least in my theory ;-) You got rain, right? That radar map was scary looking today, except for over the rainshadow!
