I am enjoying these. I do run them (raw) quickly through a food processor if I want them quicker. Less than 15 seconds in the grinder makes them cook fine with a boil in bag method.

Another vote for McCann's - instant or the real thing. On backpacking/camping trips I use McCann's instant all the time. Sometimes I go crazy and slice up pepperoni to put in it. I've even been known to put Tabasco in it (those little 2oz bottles are UL). Yeah, I get crazy out there.
Like other manufacturers, McCann's makes variety packs - plain, brown sugar, and apple/cinnamon. I only put Tabasco in the plain (I ain't that crazy).
In the winter at home I love taking the time to slow cook some real steel cut McCann's in a pot for breakfast. And the tins make great storage containers for odd nails, brads, tacks, screws, etc.
ETA: for the record, a combination of oatmeal, Tabasco, coffee, and a missing gall bladder can really clean you out quick in the morning. It's never been a bad experience, just something to be aware of. The good news is that you'll be set for the day. And given that a gall bladder preprocesses fat, that little tidbit is probably irrelevant given my typical breakfasts.
ETA2: You can buy Tabasco in LOTS of countries. I found it in a grocery store in a small town in southern Chile. Me gusta!

Sure, you can dehydrate them. But, honestly, just grind them down a bit - and then you can use them easily and quickly!
