Quebec Run Wild Area loop (Pennsylvania, Jun/18/2023)My last trip to the Quebec Run Wild Area was in 2015. That was a late autumn trip, when all the leaves were off the trees, so I was keen for a return trip to reacquaint myself with the place on a spring hike. Also, there was a fire in 2016, so a year after my last trip. I was hoping that its effects would have disappeared by now. I began my hike from the western terminus of the Tebolt Trail. I descended gently for about 0.2mi to the junction with the Hess Trail, where I took a left. The next 4.1mi were the prettiest part of the hike, as I walked through magnificent field ferns and past mountain laurel thickets in full bloom. It was heavenly! Who needs vistas if you have this? At the northern terminus of the Hess Trail, I continued on the Miller Trail. The mountain laurel display kept me company, but the luscious fern fields took a hiatus. After crossing Quebec Run, I headed uphill on the Miller Run Trail, and then on the Tebolt Trail. This took me westwards, all the way back to my car. I had completed a circuit of the Quebec Run Wild Area. Best of all, I saw no sign of damage from the 2016 fire. Stats: 11.8mi, 1825ft elevation gain, 7hrs
