Personally, I think it’s South American wine country. Though that sign is in ENglish, so maybe not? Yes, I did leave some clues here. You are on the right track, Rebecca. It is south of the equator...and it is English speaking...

Thinking about where they grow wine grapes, speak English, and are south of the equator… it doesn’t look like NZ, nor Aussie, though I’m less certain about that. I’m going to guess South Africa.

Bingo! Stellenbosch, to be more specific. Delair Graff Estate, to be exact. Absolutely spectacular. Also with a great art collection:

Well Rebecca responded to other threads several days ago so I'd like to invite anyone to post something but ask the regulars to allow a day or two for somebody relatively new to get the first shot. If this is the end I thank everyone for some great places over the course of the thread. Keep your sticks on the ice!

Okay, here's a fairly easy one. Name the peak and the lake.

If it's not in the Rockies, it's probably not in the Cascades or Sierras either. And that leaves out Hungry Horse Reservoir in the Glacier NP area also. Minnesota supposedly has 10,000 lakes, but they are not that shape. So there are the Eastern states, but I don't see any large lakes to speak of south of New England.
So I'm guessing one of the New England states. Maybe Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Maine. Maine has all kinds of lakes, and some of them are long with islands like in the photo. And that brings me to an impasse. Probably somewhere in Maine.

Travis is closest so far. Got the state. And I thought this was going to be easy!

Maine? Nobody knows anything about Maine. I’m not sure it even exists.

It doesn't look rugged enough to be Katahdin.
