Heading to Maui at the end of March and looking for some day hikes on the island. Distance and difficulty doesn't matter to me. Just looking for the most scenic hikes.

Seven Pools ( at the end of the Hana road), Iao valley, anything at Haleakala.
The drive to Hana and the 7 pools is long because it has to be taken slowly. Lots of hairpin turns. Iao Valley has several short hikes and it is much easier accessed. Haleakala has a few short hikes, but take good layers as the elevation will make it cold even in July.

Up or downstream (I like upstream, fewer people) out of Hana (Seven Sacred Pools) for one. Haleakala Crater for another. www.nps.gov/hale/index.htmHead out towards Palikū Cabin and you can get up to a 20 mile out and back...

We've worked temporarily there during the winter the past 4 years. Highly recommend 7 pools of Hana (take Dramamine if ever had any motion sickness!), on this trip you should stop at Bamboo forest and walk in to the big waterfall, swim in the lagoon, the rainbow trees, go both trails ~ upper pools and waterfall 2 miles I think and the lower is awesome. The trip around Hana is an experience not just destination. Haleakala has a trail at the crater - definitely bring layers. There was some snow & frost in May a couple years ago. At Kihei, Kealia National Refuge there is a boardwalk to look at wildlife. Lao Needle has some trails. If you rent a car, save a bundle and use Kihei rentals. We paid $200 for a week rental (sedan). Ultimately, have a wonderful time!!
