Hi all,
This new forum seems to be going strong. I hope we can resurrect the members of the old forum and get them back.
How about a reunion day hike somewhere relatively close by. Bear Mountain, NY maybe? Other suggestions?
How about September 12/13?
Maybe a winter hike after the holidays?
Joe

Apparently, NY is in the mid-Atlantic now. So I can't play here anymore.

You are grandfathered into the Northeast section. Welcome back!

Apparently, NY is in the mid-Atlantic now. So I can't play here anymore. I think there's a good argument for having NY in the Northeast Section, both historically and geographically. You should directly write to bp2go. I think if a handful of us request NY is the northeast, we could make the change. I'd like to still be able to discuss the ADK, Greens, and Whites in one regional group.

I like the idea of a regional meeting in the fall or winter. Bear Mt is pretty far for me up here in VT, but I'd swing it if I can.

Just because NY isn't in the Northeast6 now, doesn't mean you can't visit us. Western Mass. is a little closer. Bashbish area or Alander Mountain perhaps. I suggested Bear Mt. to get some of the NYC guys back.

That sounds very interesting. My son and me recently did a day hike at Bear mountain. They are working very hard on some of the trails. Was a nice time overall. Will keep an eye out for this thread if any more info.

What?!! Is this a thread on actual backpacking??? When I hit recent posts I get swamped with stuff on Obama or the next president or road bikes or robots or NY State gun laws or a new rifle or Irish Americans . . . phew. Such a nice new forum format for backpacking, but where's the backpacking??
