Well, they spelled the capital in a way that would have raised eyebrows in that city! #Worldle #376 1/6 (100%) 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🎉 ⭐⭐⭐🏙️ worldle.teuteuf.fr

I have been doing that one for a few weeks. On my phone, it shows up right after all of the answers for Worldle. It's more fun than challenging, though for non-U.S. folks it would be more of a challenge.

Ok--and yes, while the ID of the state is easy, the rest of the questions could serve a challenge...at least for some states: #Statele #56 1/6 (100%) 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🎉 ⭐⭐⭐🏙️🪙 statele.teuteuf.fr

Today I guessed the population correctly but missed the currency I knew the currency, and had a good idea of the population.

Like with the countries, I missed the population, but got everything else. Flags are much easier, since many of them have their name or initials on them.

Well, they spelled the capital in a way that would have raised eyebrows in that city! It certainly raised my eyebrows this morning when I tried to get Worldle to accept the former spelling. But after reading and listening to the reason for the spelling change, I think the residents of the city would whole-heartedly agree with it. Of course those people don't spell their capital either way because they don't use our English/Latin alphabet. They use a variation of the Cyrillic/Bulgarian alphabet (as does Russia.) So our spelling would not concern them so much as the pronunciation that goes with it. And the spelling accepted by Worldle this morning — with the "y" rather than "i" coincides with those people's preferred pronunciation. The former spelling was a sign of Russian domination. The newer spelling is a sign of independence from that domination. That is something the people in the capital and country have shown an heroic determination to accomplish.

I don't even try to spell capitals. I put in a letter or 3 and look at the options listed. Sometimes I just have to scroll throught the entire list, looking for something besides what I thought was correct.

I've tried five different browsers now and all use KYIV but don't allow KIEV. So evidently we are not all getting the same version of Worldle. I use a VPN to access the site, so I'm going to clear my cookies and try it without the VPN to see if there is a difference.
ETA: Nope, no difference. KYIV is the only spelling accepted by Worldle on my connection.
