As a new member, you might think it's a great place to sell your product, app, or maybe add an Amazon link. But slow down, participate a bit before you push for a sale. Introduce yourself in the Trailhead Register. Don’t be afraid, we like to know who the new people are. Once you have a few posts (it only takes five posts to lose the “New Member” label and be Trail Ready), you may post in the Marketplace about your backpacking-related, cottage-industry product.
Seeking feedback for KickStarter is not a good idea. Other attempts have not been backpack-related and were not welcomed (translation: they were removed!).
You will see others posting links to gear or books: notice that members will often answer a question and add a link to help inform others who asked about some gear or whatever. There is no commercial intent, so that's ok. And now you may also add a link in your signature if you produce a backpacking-related item.
Company Reps? If you rep a product, you are welcome to participate. You must identify your company connections and are expected to offer helpful info in a general sense, not just promote your product! Sound impossible? It isn't. An MSR rep set the Gold Standard some years ago and was much appreciated for answering questions about water filters.
We will allow low-key mentions of products; getting too commercial is frowned upon.

I own a cabinet company in Panama and was hoping to find skilled people looking for temporary work while visiting Panama. Is this allowed on this forum and if so how would someone best proceed on this?

This is a backpacking forum focused on wilderness backpacking. Is this the target audience for your craft? Why would you choose us to request workers from? Because many of us whittle wood around the campfire?
