Given the coming "bomb cyclone" storm, just happening now, found this wonderful youtube video of a temperate rain forest pitter-patter rain, wonderfully relaxing sound to sleep by.

davesenesac that is what it sounds like here the last couple weeks. We got two storms with three inches each and then about a week off then another 5 inches in the last couple days with 10 to 15 still predicted here in the coming week. I got my firewood stacked in and the house is warm and dry. The Smith River at Jed Smith rose from 11 to 18 feet but is still a long way from the 33 foot flood stage. Yesterday I was sitting in the van, waiting for Daisy to get out of school and snapped this shot of another woman waiting under her red umbrella The redwood needles are coming down all around us but not any trees so far, the wading pool has been filled, emptied and refilled by rain this week.
