I've found that trail shoes are so personal, that individual experiences don't really matter. Maybe except for workmanship/durability. All I have to add to that statement is that I had a pair of La Sportiva's several years ago. It was the most comfortable trail shoe I've ever owned. Unfortunately, they also completely destroyed my calves (one injury after another). It took me awhile to realize it was the shoes. But, as I mentioned before, I suspect that was a highly-individualized problem.

I wish they were uglier and had a bigger logo.

I’m looking for insight into quality control, fit, durability, lacing systems, heel drop, materials used (some shoes are vegan, btw), sizing, colors, etc. There are plenty of good gear reviews on shoes out there these days. Some really good writing, excellent observations, nuance and great information. Respectfully, DR

I wish they were uglier and had a bigger logo. I’ll pass on your request to La Sportiva (at the home office) the next time I’m in northern Italy. I’ll be sure the field office in Boulder gets your message, too... Regards, DR
