Hello, everyone!
I live in Canada, in British Columbia. I decided to join this forum because the topic of backpacking is of interest to me, and unfortunately, I do not know many other people who are into it in the same way that I am. Perhaps, I will find more like-minded people here. Anyways, I frequent the forests and desert-like areas of the Interior. I like to discuss pretty well anything to do with hiking and backpacking, especially regarding food.
As for the user name, it says something about my background (nomads from Siberia/Central Asia).

Welcome and glad to hear from you!
(Someone may ask you a bunch of goofy questions about kilts, brussel sprouts and on and on, but it's all in fun. I can't even remember the answers.)

Welcome. I'm in a fog. Literally. Sitting in a coastal hike/bike-in camp in northern Maine with coffee and very limited resources for breakfast. At least there's coffee. You'll find an extensive discussion of caffienation here, just don't start food discussions just yet.

Welcome to the last redoubt of freedom in America!
I jest.
I live in Chicago. My guilty pleasure is watching Liam Neeson play an old guy who kicks a lot of bad guy asses. What’s yours?

Welcome. I'm always interested in hearing about new places to hike. Where do you like to go in your neck of the woods?

Welcome from the Pickin in the Pines Bluegrass Festival in Flagstaff. The southwest deserts are my usual habitat but sometimes the high forest calls. There's nothing like the distant sound of banjos to get you out of the tent. Well, the smell of frying bacon helps.

Hello from Nevada. British Columbia is beautiful. I visited Vancouver many years ago. I regret not seeing the parks and many lakes in your province.

Welcome. North of NYC here. BC is one of the places I dream of hiking someday. I didn't even know there are desert like areas in the interior.

Aaah ... the greatest place on earth! Just got back from a road trip in Yukon and northern BC. Tatshenshini-Alsek provincial park (on the drive towards Haines AK south of Kluane NP) was especially cool - an exceptionally scenic road with virtually no traffic b/c of the border closure. Chuck Creek in the Tat is a very worthwhile hike if you are ever in the area.
