I’ve noticed more people wearing this brand of gear. I hear they make sleeping bags and tents, too. Plus, in select U.S. cities they have stores. What do you like about their gear? Thx.
Regards,
DR

They were one of the first companies to make extensive use of eVent. The items I've seen look reasonably light and well constructed. In the early days of eVent they were a bit pricy.

British brand founded y Rab Carringhton, a climber. For many years it focused on gear for climbers , later it was taken over by Equip Outdoor Technologies who also owns, now, Lowe Alpine. Equip in 2011 (around then...) bought Integral Designs (some might remember that brand) . Later merged the ID products into the Rab line up and eliminated that brand. As for eVent tents, there is a funny story behind that. Short version GE owned eVent at the time and did not allow shelters made from it to be more than 70cm ( 27.5") high. So Exped changed the name of the fabric to Vent Air. Rab sold their Summit shelter with the official height of 70 cm. That was in fact the height of the door panel, the apex was about 89 cm ( 35") I posted a photo of me sitting by the door showing it could not be just 27.5". You can read more in this thread : backpackinglight.com/forums/topic/7750/The brand called Outdoor Designs there is in fact Integral Designs.

Integral Designs... One of their shelters ,that I thought was interesting, was the Sildome so I borrowed one ( I was on very good terms with several local retailers including the importer for that brand) From my fiddling with that , the Luxe Outdoor Speedup came about. Me with Michael Wong, owner and designer at Luxe Outdoor. I was in love with the Gothic Arch at the time so that is what the Speedup has.
