To those familiar with the Low Gap Trail, in the Morgan-Monroe State Forest (South Central Indiana), there are two bridges near the backcountry parking area that historically wash away every time there is significant flooding. A few years back the good people from the Hoosier Hiker Council built what appeared to be two super stout replacements. Last weekend we had 6” of rain in 13 hours which produced impressive flood waters. I’m pleased to report that both bridges survived with no apparent damage.
