Stunning, and magnificent, especially the photos highlighted by the sun. Some of them are literally breathtaking.

I was just looking to see if anyone has mentioned the fire up by Red Lodge and the Beartooths on here yet.

echo I was driving back towards Red Lodge on the Beartooth Highway on Sunday and saw the smoke plume just after the fire started. It really blew up on Tuesday, which was a very hot and windy day. Here's a link to inciweb for anyone who's interested. There are a lot of spectacular photos out there of the fire burning over Mount Maurice and into the Rock Creek drainage. That's still a ways from the Main Street of Red Lodge, but it's *really* early in the season for fires in Montana. Most of the Beartooth is unaffected so far, except for smoke at times, except on the Eastern edge. Seems like it's going to be a smokey Summer, but I guess we all better get used to that :(

So good news seems to be that the wind shifted and hot spots were doused. But yeah. It’s going to be a long dry summer.
