Beautiful photos, GaliWalker , as always. The last photo is of a Hermit Thrush. Larger than a warbler, with the spotted breast typical of the family. This is the only thrush species likely to winter in your area, though in summer and during migration you could expect others. During the breeding season, the Hermit Thrush, along with other members of the thrush family, is among the most beautiful singers in North America. You may also have noticed this bird cocking his tail periodically, a behavior characteristic of the Hermit Thrush. link

Yes, that looks like it! My “Birds of Pennsylvania Field Guide” doesn’t include it, so I missed it. Thanks a lot for the ID!

The embarrassing thing is I have actually taken photos of a Hermit Thrush before (in a local park in Pittsburgh), and even identified it correctly then, but failed to do so this time. No wonder it looked so familiar.

NYC trying something different for their subway rodent problem? At the American Museum of Natural History. subway station. A lot of terrific mosaics.
an interesting thing. This is off my iPhone but I took the photo with my Nikon Z8 which can auto transfer small images via Bluetooth as well as get geotag info from the phone in the other direction.

I can’t stop myself… very strange bird indeed, sighted last weekend in Seattle.

That free range chicken doesn't look very free to me.
