Heading out to do some shopping for a overnight hike tomorrow. Wondering what is the best trail pasta and sauce. I'll be stopping at REI but I can go elsewhere if I need to. Thanks

Not sure of the brand name, but - Trader Joe's sells a fresh linguine - cooks in 3 - 4 minutes. Just don't overcook it - turns to mush quickly. Olive oil, sauteed garlic, red pepper flakes, a little diced pepperoni, and Asiago cheese ...goes good with fresh-caught trout.

Tasty Bites for a sauce. I like all the flavors but mushroom masala is my favorite. I just put Tasty Bites over rice.

If you look at my link...below....Tuesday's blog post was a roundup of one pot pasta recipes that involve no draining. It's about as easy as you can get - and yes, you can find most of the ingredients in stores. In all honesty though, I am a fan of simple: pasta, drained and tossed with olive oil, pepper, some herbs, and a ton of parmesan cheese. It's pure carb coma comfort food!

If pack space is an issue, get angel hair or thin spaghetti. They use up very little space and won't puncture your Ziploc, unlike say spirals.

New supplier for me, thanks for the tip Trinity, will try them out. Hawk Vittles is the kind of small specialized company that I like to support. I've really loved some of his meals, a few I've thought were a bit on the bland side. The Hot Italian Sausage Pasta is one of the ones that I thought was really great.

What, no Chef Boyardee? Seriously, though, good thread, not familiar with some of these brands listed. Winter times are when I traditionally experiment with different brands to find out what I want to pack on future trips.
