I would like to hike the Citrus Loop around the Florida Trail Western Corridor. However, CalTopo only shows the FT itself, not the yellow and blue blazed loops I have planned. This means I can't really create a CalTopo version of my route unless I find a map that has all these trails.
Fortunately, others have shared their Citrus Loop maps on CalTopo so I can see exactly where my route lies. However in creating my own itinerary, I can't seem to snap-to the shared tracks.
Does anyone know how to do this?

If I log in, I can save a map, and then it gives me a short link to the saved itinerary. You don't have to be logged in to see a shared map, but you do to share it. Since I use it so much, I even paid the annual fee - lets me save more than five maps at a time.

I even paid the annual fee I did too and found only 1 shared track covering the route I was looking for. Which would have been fine except it was part of a larger map that someone created with thousands of lines and markers. Just zooming in and out took about 15 seconds so using that track was unworkable. Ultimately I just gave up and used the FTA map.

Sometimes the snap-to doesn't work. I do the route freehand in that instance. It's a bit tedious but it works. For longer routes if the snap-to works, I then go back and estimate distances between campsites - the right-click menu helps me click on a point and break the traced route into sections so it's easier for others to see daily mileages.

Does anyone know if you can import gpx file/s and layer them on the map to print out?

Yes, there is an import button. In the help section there are instructions for importing files straight from the gps.
