I don't recognise most of those modern gadgets. life was much simpler when I was growing up, then someone invented the wireless and everything changed.

Definitely old. What is the story with the mirror (#29). That's the only item I did not immediately recognize. What does it do?

What is the story with the mirror (#29) You can see how your makeup looks in different types of light.

I used #5 to make my German potato dumplings at Thanksgiving, and I use #21 all of time as well.

Number 9 is still used in stores.
And how are you expected to mash a potato if you don't have a potato masher?

Number 9 is still used in stores. A lot of people don't know how to use a Brannock Device properly. The slider at the base of the big toe (arch length) shows that my correct size is half a size bigger than indicated by the heel-to-toe measurement. I can't say how often I had to explain that to people in shoe stores.

The tater masher doesn't belong.

I haven't owned a potato masher in over 40 years. We use a hand mixer in this house.

#10 - It took me quite a while to recall what it was. Did you ever burn yourself with one on purpose? (I certainly did). I would never eat that stuff. #28 - Not me, but my parents did. My grandparents did at home and in camp.

I haven't owned a potato masher in over 40 years. We use a hand mixer in this house. Good mashed taters should have little lumps of unmashed taters mixed throughout, which the hand masher leaves behind. Mixers make slimed taters.

I have used one of these old wringer washers. I had saved my grandmother's, thinking it might be worth something as an antique. Then one day my own automated washer broke down. So I used her wringer washer for a few weeks until I had time to find a new washer. Good idea to know how to reverse the wringer direction immediately after it takes one of your fingers.
Otherwise, I recognized every photo at the website. And I'm not even old. I'm not. But seriously, the washboard is way older that most of us here.

I have used one of these old wringer washers. My grandmother used one of those until the day she died in May, 2005. They still use mangles in Sweden for linen sheets. Apartment buildings have huge ones, with stone or concrete rollers that weigh hundreds of pounds. They also sell units for home use that have built-in electric heating to accelerate drying. You can burn yourself at the same time you smash your fingers.
