SWT got some great shots as always. There were too many clouds here to see anything.

Great shots, SWT! Better than anything anyone here got, though we were able to see it. Naked eyes could see both planets, but barely, depending on the quality of said eyes . My BIL got some photos, but he was just shooting hand-held, and we had a lot of street lights, so not optimal. Still, cool to see. And presumably we’ll go on seeing them pretty close for a while as I assume they’ll move apart as slowly as they moved together.

Or, as Second Son said, if Jupiter and Saturn are having a conjunction, are Mars and Venus having a preposition?

Or, as Second Son said, if Jupiter and Saturn are having a conjunction, are Mars and Venus having a preposition? Every time I hear about the conjunction, I repeatedly ask myself "what's its function?".

I keep wondering if they'll get conjunctivitis.

SWT got some great shots as always. A lot better than mine....of course I was holding a cheap cell phone up to the eyepiece of a 6" scope.

I tried looking at it through my cheap 70mm telescope. that thing drives me crazy. really looked like nothing but an ordinary star. so frustrating.

Or, as Second Son said, if Jupiter and Saturn are having a conjunction, are Mars and Venus having a preposition? I think, according to Greco-Roman mythology, Mars gave Venus a preposition, but Jupiter decided it couldn't end with that.

Are you sure it wasn't a proposition?

It was a name. Silly! A mammal on a rock in the sky gave them a name. I'm sure prairie grass and clams call them something else. Maybe. We don't know. Irrelevant to the rocks out there. They just are.
