dayhiker, thanks for sharing this stunning art. Snowflakes are so lovely, so beautiful and so perfectly balanced. They're truly works of art. I was also interested in what the photographer did to capture photos in such detail.

Have a copy of the original snowflake image book from decades ago. What one misses with the online images is the intricate fine crystalline detail at 100% pixels full image size that makes a huge difference for the aesthetic. All his images are focus stacked like much of my close-up work.

I'll worry about photographical method later. What I want to know is how you isolate a single snow flake and not melt it.
