I've heard about the different electronic devices for on-trail and in-camp reading but I like to copy a wide range of subjects usually covered in 2 or 3 page bursts---like a wiki article on Gen Patton or a bio of Jimi Henrix or a thousand other little tiny things. Plus, I often take out recent Trail Journal.com trip reports of my trips and correct them for later at-home editing. Is this possible with the Nook? Can any webpage be placed on the Nook in memory storage for later reading without the need for internet connection??

Tipi,
It's been awhile since I've used a Nook, but I *believe* if it can be converted to a PDF and saved that way (most files can, and even web-pages), you could read it on the Nook. You'd want to double check that but I believe that's true.
It's up to you, of course, to determine if such a device is "for you" or not, but I don't necessarily think it'd be all that difficult to save a bunch of little files and peruse/read them later. You'd want to verify that first though.

Would literally fits thousands books, even more smaller articles in pdf format. The nice thing about the Nook it will read pdf files natively unlike the Kindle which requires a conversion before it will read pdf files.

What kind of tent do you use? It looks big, which usually means heavy.

It's an 8 lb 10 oz Hilleberg Keron at around 37 sq feet interior space. Wonderful tent. I put tent protection, longevity, usefulness and storm proofness above tent weight. Especially useful when in 4 day hunker mode during a blizzard.

Impressed whenever I read some have carried in more than I've ever done. (Me probably 85# was max but then I weighed just 135# and it was 90 degrees that day going into Elephant Canyon at Canyonlands. Thanks for the image tour. Might just get in a winter backpack myself in the coming few weeks but that will just be short 2 day one night trip or two with relative balmy cool temps of the Mojave Desert.
