So for the first time in *weeks*, the smoke cleared from Owens Valley. I was able to ride the ol' scooter up to Lake Sabrina to capture some Fall colors. Sadly, the Inyo National Forest is still closed, so you can't enter, hike, or otherwise recreate anywhere at the lakes. So, I had to settle for a few photos from the edge of the nearest parking lot, or from the side of the road. The marina (closed) at Lake Sabrina. You can see the aspens changing color nicely on the far shore. Lake Sabrina, again, with the long lens. This was Bishop Creek, at the North Lake turnout. The gate was closed up to North Lake, so I just stopped by the first bridge to shoot this. Bishop Creek, at the North Lake turnout. Yellows, oranges, browns, reds, and greens - it must be Fall in the Eastern Sierra! Bishop Creek again, at the North Lake turnout. Silhouette, looking up through the changing aspens... This was the Bishop Creek drainage, just above Cardinal Lodge, on Highway 168, west of Bishop, California.

Beautiful photos; I especially like the contrasts of color and texture.

Nice!
I missed the smokeless days. And we did have smoke in Utah...just not as suffocating as at home. (Ha, and one day in Utah, we had something unfamiliar...a bit of rain!)
But we did drive up the new South Lake Road, fully opened, yesterday. What a nice road! (I've stayed away during the whole construction.)
